Post by ðéñéà èîñéúHello there,
What's the temperature in Mars?
Thanks for advance, Nisim.
The air temperature is typically about -20C, but the surface is entirely
different. It can reach temperatures as high as +30C in summer in the
direct sunlight, but tends to stay closer to the 5 to 10C range. The
atmosphere is so thin that it acts as an insulating layer, similar to a
Thermos bottle, so the heat tends to stay close to the ground.
There is an independent weather system in the lower meter of atmosphere
due to this insulating effect. The relative humidity tends to remain very
close to 100% in this layer, showing that moisture must be present.
